H & & & The "Old Maid's Convention" was a great hit, H and crowded the Ladies' Literary club on MODS' MOD-S' day at the matinee and evening performance. The H play literally sparkled, and was a great success. H Mrs. C. E. Richards, Mrs. R. C. Woodruff, Mrs. H John Reed, Mrs. Bickford, and Johnny Spencer H were captivating. To Mr. Curtis and Mr. Christen-H Christen-H sen great credit is due, and the specialties of par-H par-H ticular note were those of Miss Dwyer, Elsie and H Dorothy Bamberger, Mr. Ashworth and Mr. Robin-H Robin-H son. H & & & H Mis. Arthur Davies of Park City entertained H the Trousseau club in honor of Miss Hattie Jen- H nings Tuesday afternoon. H Judge and Mrs. Powers entertain at dinner this H evening. Glendinning gives a luncheon in M honor of her mother, Mrs. Reed, at the Alta club H on Tuesday. Mrs. Charles Fifleld entertained at cards Thursday afternoon. The marriage of Miss Julia K. Hayes and Mr. Enos Hoge took place at the home of the bride's parents on Wednesday evening. Father Kiely officiating. of-ficiating. It was a quiet wedding, relatives and intimate friends being the only ones present. Mrs. G. W. Forester entertains at luncheon today. to-day. Miss Jean Odell gives a luncheon at the Alta club today followed by a matinee party. Mrs. Russell L. Tracy entertained at an elaborate elabor-ate luncheon on Thursday in honor of Mrs. Clar-ance Clar-ance T. Brown. Miss Hattie Jennings and Mr. Arthur Shep-nerd Shep-nerd will bo married Thursday, March 5th. It will be a quiet home wedding, and after the ceremony cere-mony the young people will leave for an extended Eastern trip. Mrs. L. Cohn gives a reception Monday afternoon after-noon in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Cohn. Rev. Clarence T. Brown leaves for the East next week. Mrs. Kimball. Mrs. Woodruff, and Miss Kimball Kim-ball entertained Wednesday and Thursday afternoons after-noons at cards. About fifty friends enjoyed each event. A pretty affair was the luncheon given at the Alta club on Wednesday by Mrs. H. D. Niles. Spring flowers were the decorations, violets and daffodils making a cheerful contrast. The effect .was helped with yellow-shaded candelabra. Covers Cov-ers wele laid for eighteen. Miss Mayme Noble entertained at a charming luncheon at the Commercial club on Thursday in honor of Mrs. Fred Noble. Baskets of violets, smilax and candelabra made the table oeautiful. Ten guests were present. The dinner of the insurance adjusters at the Commercial club was one of the happiest events of the week. Mr. Quigley gives a banquet tonight at the Commercial club to his agents. The third annual banquet of the letter carriers takes place tonight at Odd Fellow's hall. Dr. J. M. Dart is temporarily at Dr. Hosmer's office In the Mercantile block. Hours 1 to 4 P. M. |
