They asked Sheriff Than Cooper where he wanted them to hunt. He said that they had found her tracks down by the river. They had crossed the river three or four times. He wanted Dave and May to go back to the second road and get to the river. There was a cabin that was being built. It was about three-quarters of a mile from the Doughty ranch. There she was knocking on the door. She was so cold and wet. We told her that we would take her to her mother. May put her coat on her and David phoned the Sheriff and told him that they had found her. They took her back to her mother Julia Brooks. It was a very teary and happy reunion. She had been gone for over three hours. Every one had a big smile and was happy also. |
