Show Area Obituaries Elsie Sargent Spendlove ROY Elsie Sargent Spendlove, Spend-love, our dear mother, sweetheart, sweet-heart, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully Dec. 7, 2003. Elsie was born Apr. 2, 1924 in Panguitch, Utah, the daughter of Fred and Rhoana Sargent. She grew up there and later attended college in Cedar City, where she met her eternal sweetheart, Earl. She . married Earl . P. Spendlove on May 16, 1944 in the St. George LDS Temple. They had four daughters Kathleen, Janet, Kristine and Luann. .. She loved her family, reading, rock hounding and laughing. Her smile could light up the darkest room. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, had a strong testimony testimo-ny of the gospel and served faithfully in many callings. She was one of the Lord's sweetest daughters. With her unfailing positive attitude, she exemplified exempli-fied the Savior's admonition, "Be of good cheer." It was an honor and pleasure to care for her in later years. Elsie's family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the kind and loving care provided pro-vided by the staff of Heritage Park Care Center. She is survived by her husband, hus-band, Earl; daughters Kathleen Spendlove, Panorama City, Calif.; Janet (Kent) Nelson, Salt Lake City; Kristine (Layne) Winzeler, North Ogden; Luann Spendlove, Roy; sisters Effie Cherrington, Provo; Lucille Sargent, Provo, whose weekly visits she enjoyed, brother, Bill Sargent, New York; sisters-in-law, Emma Griggs, Shirley Glore, Ruth Memmott, Eleanor Spendlove, LaDean Stewart, Dorothy Spendlove, brother-in-law, Paul (Louise) Spendlove; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services ' were held Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at the Lakeview LDS Ward, 4900 South 2000 West in Roy. Interment was in the Roy City Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary in Roy. Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com. , "Be of good cheer" Kirk Q. Moore PANGUITCH - Kirk Quilter Moore, 72, passed away Feb. 28, 2004 at his home in Panguitch. He was born May 1 , 1931 in Henrieville, to George Dewey and Eliza Ann Moxon Moore. He married LaVenda Reid on Sept. 25, 1951 in the St. George LDS Temple. Kirk was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served in many capacities and at the time of his death was a High Priest in the Panguitch 1st Ward. He was called to serve a mission in the Eastern States but was released to return home to the military draft. He served in the US Air Force for four years, graduated from Utah State University in June of 1957. He was a member of the National History Association. He was the first Drivers Education Teacher in Garfield County. He taught world history, was the year book advisor and was librarian at Panguitch High Schobl for 30 years and was loved by many students. He was a professional horseman and loved prospecting and the outdoors. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren grandchil-dren and they loved him. He is survived by his wife, LaVenda; sons: Gaylen Reid (Camille) Moore and Kevin Dewey (DeAnna) Moore, all of Panguitch; daughter Cynthia Ann (Kevin) . Adrian Willis Pollock: Adrian Willis Pollock, 88, of Tropic, passed away on Feb. 26, 2004 at his home in Tropic. Adrian was born on Nov. 12, 1915, in Henrieville, to Parley Franklin and Lydia Jane Pollock. He married Glenna LeFevre on Sept. 22, 1940, in the St. George LDS Temple. Adrian was a member of the LDS Church, an Alcohol Anonymous representative and was the national weather service recorder for Tropic for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Glenna; daughters: Jolene Jensen, Salt Lake City; Darlene (Grant) LeFevre, Bountiful; Hazel (Marvin) Hatch, Fredonia, Ariz.; sons, Garn (Peggy) Pollock, Bountiful; Vee (Gwen) Pollock, Sherman, 111.; Dee Pollock, Mesquite, Nev.; Royce (Debbie) Pollock, Panguitch; and Dale P. (Janece) Pollock, Berlin, Germany; 34 grandchildren and 30 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Haycock, Tropic. Adrian is preceded in death by his son, Adrian Lynn Pollock; granddaughter, Jody Lynne Little; great-grandson, Braedon Leon Braff; sons-in-law, Holger Jensen and June Sanders; and three brothers. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Mar. 2, 2004 in Tropic at the Tropic LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Fred Syrett officiating. officiat-ing. The family prayer was offered by Dale Patterson Pollock, a son. Prelude and postlude music was provided by Gwen Brinkerhoff with the invocation by Darlene LeFevre, a daughter. The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Gwen Brinkerhoff and directed by Janece Pollock, a daughter-in-law.
