Show ( flREfl OBITUARIES v L Christena "Ena" Schow PANGUITCH Christena Cooper "Ena" Schow, 97, of Panguitch, Utah died March 16, 1996 in the Richfield Care Center of causes incident to age. She was born Feb. 21, 1899 in Panguitch to James M. and Mary Henrie Cooper. She married her sweetheart and best friend Ira Thomas Schow, Aug. 11, 1919. The marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple, Aug. 13, 1982. He preceded her in death, May 16, 1973. Christena was a wonderful mother and homemaker and was loved dearly by family and friends. She was a member of the LDS Church and lived all her life in Panguitch where she and Tom owned and operated the S&C Mercantile. ' She is survived by children Mary and Bob Dodds, Salt Lake City, UT; Norma and Reid Burrows, Richfield, UT and Jim and Cleone Schow, Sandy, UT; 10 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild, sister-in-law, Vera Wilcock; brother-in-law, Henderson Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons Grant and Kyle; daughter, Veda; one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, parents, four brothers, James, Than, Travis and Jed. Funeral services were held . Wednesday, Mar. 20, 1996 at the Panguitch LDS 3rd Ward, 200 N. 400 E. in Panguitch with Bishop Del Hulet officiating. Prelude and postlude music was rendered by Barbara Orton and Pam Yardley. The family prayer was given by a son, Jim Schow prior to the opening of the service. The invocation was given by a grandson, Craig Schow followed by a vocal selection "In The Garden," performed by the Panguitch Tri-Ward Tri-Ward Choir under the direction of Maurietta Syrett and accompanied by Pam Yardley. A tribute was given by Merle Stowell, followed by a Grandmother Tribute from Christena "Ena" Schow granddaughters Barbara Pearce and Christina Peck. A vocal selection "Song of Testimony" was sung by son-in-law D. Reid Burrows. A second selection "A Perfect Day" was sung by Morgan White, accompanied by Pam Yardley. Bishop Del Hulet offered remarks and the Panguitch Tri-Ward Choir sang a final selection "God Be With You." The benediction was given by grandson Tom Burrows. Pallbearers were grandsons David Burrows, Kim Dodds, Tom Burrows Bryan Burrows, Jim Schow and Craig Schow. Honorary pallbearers were Art Cooper, Gary Pearce, Dave Peck, Mike Hill, Joshua Burrows, Jerry Riddle and Chad Pearce. Compassionate services were rendered by the sisters of the Panguitch 3rd Ward Relief Society. Flower girls were the granddaughters. Burial was in the Panguitch Cemetery with the dedication of the grave performed by a grandson, Bryan Burrows, under the diretion of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Richfield Care Center employees for their loving care given to Mother. Louise Manak WASHINGTON Louise Marie Riha Manak, age 80, died March 17, 1996 in St. George. She was born May 18, 1915 in Chicago, 111. to Frank and Aloisie Zydek Riha. She married Edward R. Manak on May 18, 1935 in Cicera, 111. Louise was born and raised in Illinois before moving to San Bernadino, Calif, in 1947 where she worked for the U.S. Government at Norton Air Force Base as a civilian employee, retiring in 1977. Shortly after retirement they moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz, where she enjoyed water skiing and being near the water. In' 1995, Louise and Edward moved to Washington where they have resided for the past year. One of Louise's most enjoyable hobbies was gardening. Surviving family members in- Dewey Moore Services Set PANGUITCH Harvey Dewey Moore, 75 of Panguitch and St. George, died March 19, 1996 in Panguitch. He was born July 24, 1920 in Junction, Utah. Services are pending for Saturday, Mar. 23, at 1 p.m. in the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward. Friends and relatives may attend the viewing view-ing from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery under the direction of Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richdield. elude her husband Edward R. Manak of Washington; three daughters, Edwina Hodges, Bermuda Dunes, Calif; Roberta (Pat) Coughlin of St. George; Rhoda Guyton, San Bernadino, Calif; five grandchildren; one sister, Helen Dobys, Stratford, CN; one brother, George Riha, Cicera, 111. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one grandson. Memorial services were be held on Tuesday, March 19, 1996 at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary. |
