Show GIRL STATERS ANNOUNCED FOR DUCHESNE Two Duchesne High School girls will attend annual Girls' State at the Utah State University Uni-versity this year. Claudia Davies and Dorothy Lewis are alternate delegates. June 5-11 is date for this citizenship training course. All are excellent ex-cellent junior class students. Miss Wright is ja daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Wright; Miss Turner's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Everett Turner; Miss Davies is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Davies and Miss Lewis' mother is Mrs. Ilia Sanford. Judges who interviewed the girls and read their application and essays Monday night at the American Legion Hall in Duchesne are Mrs. Georgia Couture and Mrs. Reba McLean, Vernal, and Mrs. Leona Riding, Rid-ing, Roosevelt. All three judges are ardent Auxiliary members and workers. This meeting was conducted conduct-ed by Mrs. Phyllis W. Day, Unit No. 22 president. Mrs. Pattie Burdick is Girls' State chairman for the Duchesne Unit. |
