Show Primary elections will be held Friday at the Duchesne High School. General election of the student council officers-president, officers-president, vice president, secretary-treasurer and historian histor-ian will be held the following Friday. The DHS Mixed Chorus sang two numbers in competition in the Uintah Basin Music Meet of Marching Bands and Choral groups at Vernal last Friday. These selections were 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "No Man Is An Island". The DHS Girls1 Chorus sang "A Home in the Meadow", as a competitive number. The choral groups were I II I conducted by Allan Bates, of the DHS faculty. The Freshman Class assembly assem-bly was held Friday afternoon. Sherrie Roberts, freshman class president was in charge. Julie Marett and Pam Davies comprised the special assembly committee. The program was the me d to a slumber party. The assembly program was staged in the school auditorium, Linda Wright played a piano ; solo; Patsy Thompson and Annette Young sang a duet; Marsha Fitzwater danced; and Mary Ellen O'Driscoll did a baton ba-ton routine. Melanie Meriwether, Pam Davies, Sherrie Roberts and Suzzanne Ivie sang a quartette Five Duchesne High School athletes competed in the BYU Invitation Track Meet Saturday Satur-day at Provo. Roger Cowan was second in the high jump, with a 62 " flight over the bar; Brent Bailey won fourth place in the pole vault when he soared 11 feet over the to;; both won medals. Kenneth Farnsworth com- peted in the 880 yard run; Russell Cowan, the broad jump and the javelin; and Ray Jensen, broad jump and high jump. SCHOOL DATES May 19 Spring Festival, evening. The band will play, the chorus will sing, the Debutantes Debu-tantes will march, clothing articles made by the home economics department students will be modeled. The entire family is welcome to come to the festival. May 20 Seminary graduation, gradu-ation, under direction of Clinton Moon, seminary president; pre-sident; Kenneth Farnsworth, vice president; and Sally Wimmer, secretary. May 24 Senior Class Graduation, evening. Graduation Gradu-ation committee members are Linda Stansf ield, Roger Cowan, Dennis Thomas and Sally Wilkerson.
