Some person might have liked July and. August and wanted them to stick around a little longer. I was delighted yesterday morning when I turned the calender to September. I will admit, however, this hasn't been a very good season for us. For some reason the tomatoes just arent ripening, the bugs got the pole beans and only one cucumber vine grew. As usual the zucchinis have been pretty good and weve enjoyed them. It does seem like weve had a short summer, at least a short growing season. Time does move along, and I guess it depends on what you are doing whether it seems to go fast or slow. Arnold Bennet made the best observation about time Ive ever read. He said, "You wake up in the morning and lol your purse is magically filled with twenty-fou- r hours of the unmanufactured tissue of the universe of your life. It is yours. It is the most precious of possessions. No one can take it from you. It is unstealable. And no one receives either more or less than you receive. Now how about pulling up that old easy chair and giving me a little bit of your time so we can have our little Party Line chat.
