Show ' ''lira ' Election for Jordan School Trustees . to W Held Wednesday, December - 4 at Central School Quinn Hat An Enviabla Record." " - Wednesday , of this coming week, there will be an election for a mcm-' mcm-' ber from this towu "for the Jordan . School" District Board of Education. " Francis Quinn, incumbent, is on the ballot for a third term, and is op- - posed by.C; L. Countryman. Mr. Quinn, who has been a resident - of Bingham Canyon for the past 38 years, needs no introduction to the people "of the camp, but a few remarks' re-marks' might be made concerning his record of the past eight yeatj as a k-. ,1 im mil. wrr.n member of .the Jordan District Board of Education. First, it might be said that Mr. Quinn follows a rule that a principal is hired for the purpose of running a school, and never has he shown his authority by: trying to overrule pre-ceptsand pre-ceptsand teachings laid down by the head of the schools here. This char- acteristic not only eliminates strife and dissent ion at the local institution, but encourages the members of the . faculty to put forth their best efforts. Then it can be saicf that Mr. Quinn has considerable influence with the other members of the board, which is , proven in the fact that since his admission ad-mission as a member of the Jordan . School District Board of Education, Bingham Canyon has been enriched with a modern school at Highland Boy, and with a new High School Building, now nearing completion on school conditions, a difficult problem owing to the geographical condition of Bingham Canyon. What he has done to eradicate the educational problems here is history. What will be done in the next four years? Can a new man, unacquainted with school conditions of the present" day improve im-prove conditions here? Isn't the fact that 'results have been shown in the past eight years enough evidence that the people of the camp should re-elect Francis W. Quinn? Surely the. folks hereabouts will let their better judgment dictate to them next Wednesday, and allow Mr. Quinn to continue the work he started start-ed eight years ago, TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES FACILI-TIES OF BINGHAM CANYON. Mam Street, said to be one of the finest high school buildings in the state of Utah. "These two assets, if for no other reason, should justify the re-election of Mr. Quinn for a third term. " He has been a hard worker for the 'v betterment of educational facilities in '.. Bingham Canyon, and through his ef--forts .and the harmonious co-opera-' 'i tlon of the remaining members of the School Board he has given Bingham v ,'' Canyon two new buildings of educa-' educa-' Zi'- tion. - ' What one's personal feelings are t . toward Mr. Quinn, should not enter V " tnt the election on Wednesday next, , . , ' as ha is not trying to further personal ' gain,' but to continue in his labors of assisting this town in bettering the |
