Myrtle Cottrell Tribole With the passing of Myrtle Meada Cottrell Tribole on Wednesday, January 21, 1976, Milford lost one of its oldest residents and outstanding citizens. Mrs. Tribole was born November 3, 1893, In Huntington, Hunt-ington, Oregon, to William F. and Alice C. Cottrell. She moved with her parents to Milford in 1904 when her father accepted the position of car and wrecker foreman for the old LA & SL RR, later purchased by the Union Pacific Railroad, the first such job in the newly -created town of Milford, the then terminus of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad. Together with her member of Union Pacific Old Timer's Club 31. Myrtle and Joe were known country-wide for their participation par-ticipation in affairs of the Methodist Church throughout Southern Utah. Her willingness willing-ness to share her musical gifts with the Catholic and LDS people is well known by her hundreds of friends who called on Saturday to pay their respects to a woman who indelibly made her print in the lives of many. She leaves behind her husband, Joe Tribole; sons, Bill of Bountiful, Utah and Frank of Long Beach, California, Calif-ornia, and one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Nelson of Long Beach, California. She has 9 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Former MilfordMethodist Minister, Rev. James Sloan, now of Tooele, Utah, and long-time associate and friend of Joe andMyrtle, was the speaker for the afternoon. after-noon. Milford and Southern Utah has sustained a loss in Mrs. Tribole's passing; 72 years of continued permanent residency resi-dency and 62 years of mar-rage mar-rage in this community has left her imprint in history. She will be remembered as one of Milford's outstanding pioneers and citizens and will be missed by all. Services as follows: Prelude and Postlude music, Dora Pool; Officiating, Reverend Rev-erend Jim Robbins; Prayer at the mortuary, Hinauri Tribole; Invocation, Reverend Rev-erend Jim Robbins; Eastern Star Services, Ruth Chapter 6; organ selection, Beth Edwards; speaker, Reverend Jim Sloan; vocal solo, Victor Kaufman; "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by Dora Pool. Graveside service, Eastern Star, Chapter 6. Pallbearers: Ronnie Baharie, Larry Nelson, Don Wooley, Bill Cottrell, Oakley Nelson, Dr. Charles Heywood. Honorary Pallbearers: George Moore, Lee Gray, Bert Wynaught, J. C. Smith, George Bush, Ross Patterson, Fred Cottrell. Interment in the Milford City Cemetery under the direction di-rection of Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary, Milford.
