Hanks and party, who are touring the Yellow stone Park, speak enthusiastically of ' the wonderful scenery and of the good time members of the party are having. A few days ago Eb. Tanner of this ' city, took a party from Beaver to this fameus resort. Attending Conference Rev. S. Allison, wife and child departed de-parted Tuesday for Salt Lake, where 1 Mr. Allison will at tend the annual conference con-ference of the M. E. Church. The i trip was made by autu. Fire on the Project Fire destroyed the ranch house and contents belonging to Walter Cook, of the Project last Monday, during the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Cook, who had started to town. After driving a few miles Mrs. Cook happened to look back toward their dwelling and discovered dis-covered it in flames. An alarm was raised and help Bumrroned but all efforts were useless and the building was soon a wreck. No cause can be assigned for the fire, as Mr. Cook states there was no fire in the house when he left it. There was no insurance. McCulley "Good Sport" That A.F. McCulley, the well-known and enterprising merchant, is a "good sport is demonstrated by his action in leaving his own business and subs'itut-ing subs'itut-ing for McCarthy in the local telegraph tele-graph office, thus permitting the latter to fake part in the tour just ended. Mr. McCulley is an old operator and was once in charge of the Frisco office. The boys of the ball team certainly apprreciate this courtesy on his part. o News Linotype Arrives The new linotype for the NEWS arrived at the local freight station on Tuesday and was taken to the new building Thursday. The big machine came all the way from Brooklyn, N.Y , is a Mereanthaler and will enable the NEWS to more than double its news capacity. Governor Goes Through Governor Spry, accompanied by Gerritt Fort, passenger traffic manager manag-er of the Uniou Pacific, Gilbert Fuller, vice president of the Raymond-Whit-comb Excursion Company, D. S.Spencer S.Spen-cer of the O.S.L., J.H. Mauderfield of the Salt Lake Route, J.K. Hardy, secretary sec-retary to the Governor aud others, passed through Milford last Friday evening, on the return trip from Zion Canyou and the Grand Canyon country. The object of the trip was, chiefly, to investigate the possibilities of having that country opened up for tourist travel. A NEWS representative had a pleasant chat wiih the Governor at the depot and also met other members of the party. The Governor expressed himself aB being much int crest ed in th growth and prosperity of this section and believes we have fine proipects in a commercial way.
