Show The Fourth Annual Crystal Grest Awards The fourth annual Crystal Crest Awards, Weber State's premiere awards and honors ceremony, will be held June 7, 1986, in the Austad Auditorium of the Browning Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Associated Students of Weber State College, the Crystal Crest tradition began in 1983 with a spectacular entertainment and awards ceremony. The tradition continues this year in a pageant patterned after Hollywood's Oscar night. The awards program was brought into being out of a desire to honor, in a truly meaningful manner, those of the WSC community who have distinguished themselves above all others. Categories include such achievements as scholarship, talent, leadership and instruction. There are five finalists, listed on the following pages, in each of the ten categories. There were almost three hundred and fifty total nominations, and finalists were selected only after a rigorous screening process. While the method of selection varied from category to category, a uniform standard of excellence is maintain ed by each selection committee. The selection methods included questionnaires, personal interviews, and careful analysis of records. The awards will be presented by distinguished guest presenters (see p. 4). Punctuating the award presentations will be songs and dance numbers by the WSC Tangent Factor Band, the Weber State Singers, the Or-chesis Dance Ensemble, the Chantonelles and the LDS Institute Folk Dancers. After the awards ceremony, WSC president Steven Nadauld and ASWSC president J Todd 'Anderson will welcome students, faculty and the general public to the President's Ball. The Ball will start at 9:30 p.m. in the U.B. Ballroom. Best dress is required and a delicious buffet will be provided. The Crystal Crest ceremony is open to all students, faculty, staff and the general public. Ticket prices are $5.50 for reserved seats and $3.50 for general admission. Tickets may be purchased at ZCMI, the Browning Center and any Datatix outlets. TT I m m M m m |
