Show PHILIP SUTHERLAND IS LAID TO REST Beautiful Services Hark Last Tribute to the Dead Son of Utah's Congressman. Funeral services over the remains of the late Philip Sutherland were held yesterday yester-day afternoon at the Sutherland family residence at 527 East First South street, and were as beautiful as were ever held in the city. The home was crowded with sorrowing friends, and nothing that could have been done to render the grief of the family less poignant was left undone. The services were conducted by Dean Eddie of St. Mark's cathedral, who offered of-fered consolation to the mourners and praised the life and character of the dead young man. A special quartette from St Mark's choir, under the leadership of Carl Beheld, furnished the music, and rendered a number num-ber of selections with great feeling. Mr. Graham of Provo sang "Beautiful City" in a most effective manner. The pall-bearers were all prominent members of the Utah Bar association, and all were close friends of the family. They were P. L. Williams, E. B. Crltch-low, Crltch-low, W. H. Dickson. Waldemar Van Cott and E. M. Allison of Salt Lake, and 8. R. Thurman of Provo. The floral offerings were profuse and particularly beautiful, among them being i a blanket of flowers from the boys of St. Paul's school, at Concord, N. H. The Interment In-terment was In the family lot in Mount Olivet cemetery. |
