Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Strong of Alpine Al-pine were guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Richards Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kjaer of Salt Lake City were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Theobald Monday. J. Wallace West of Salt Lake City made calls on Pleasant Grove relatives rela-tives Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Kirk returned re-turned to Consumers, Carbon county, coun-ty, Tuesday after a week's visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie 1 Boren, and Mrs. Clara Kirk. Austin, the 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dittmore was operated op-erated on recently for empyema at the Aird hospital in Provo. Henry Imisch, employed at the Corlessen service station, had the misfortune to have his middle finger of his left hand smashed when he attempted to move a barrel of oil and it rolled onto his finger. The Fourth and Fifth grade children chil-dren held a social last Friday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. G. Y. Anderson An-derson in honor of little Miss Nancy Brian, one of their number, who has since moved to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Rose B. Hayes left Monday for Salt Lake City to take care of the home of Dr. and Mrs. John Z. Brown while the Brown's are on an eastern trip for business and pleasure. Thorne attended the funeral of her aunt, Hannah Johnson Bigelow, at Payson Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Miller of Ames, Iowa, are visiting with Mr. Miller's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Miller, of Lindon. Mrs. Gertrude Blackhurst, who has been seriously ill, is reported to be slowly improving in health. Mrs. William Peterson and baby returned home Tuesday from the Lehi hospital. Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Wright of Payson, visited Sunday with Mrs. Wright's daughter, Mrs. Thomas Fenton. t l Mr. and Mrs. Bert Giles, Bee and Maurine Giles, of Heber, were guests of Pleasant Grove relatives last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Robison of Park City spent the week-end with Mrs. Robison's mother, Mrs. Laura Keetch. They returned home Monday Mon-day and little Miss Margaret Keetch accompanied them for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. James D. Thorne and son, Cyril, attended a birthday dinner Sunday at the Bert Giles home in Heber in honor of the 70th birthday of Mrs. Nettie Thome. Mr. and Mrs. Carl S. Farr and Mrs. Bagley of Cottonwood and Miss Florence Osoarson, who is em- ployed in Salt Lake City, spent last Sunday at the G. E. Oscarson home. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Barton received word Wednesday of the death of Mr. Barton's brother at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Barton Bar-ton left early Thursday for Salt Lake City to remain until after the funeral. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. D. Fage enjoyed a birthday party in honor of Mrs. Reed Peterson Tuesday evening. After a sumptuous sumptu-ous dinner the evening was spent in family reminiscences and social chat. The members of this family present were : Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Bateman of Alpine, Mrs. Jennie Halliday, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conway and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fage. The Misses Nina White, Elizabeth Blackhurst, Dora Oscarson and Laura Lau-ra Swenson entertained at a shower Monday evening at Wie LeGrande White home In honor of Ruby Adams Olsen, a bride of last week. The evening was spent in miscellaneous miscel-laneous games and social chat. Delicious De-licious refreshments were served to twenty-three guests. Miss Sylva Bunnel, 12-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bunnel, Bun-nel, was taken to the St. Marks hos-pita hos-pita in Salt Lake City last Thursday Thurs-day suffering with a ruptured appendix ap-pendix and other complications. She is reported to be in a very critical condition. Miss Viola Beers, Mrs. Orpha Beers and Mrs. Violet Beers entertained enter-tained at a shower Saturday night at the Warren Beers home n honor of June Beers, who will wed Joseph Churnic of Ohio, Saturday. The evening eve-ning was spent in games and social chat. About 30 guests were present. The bride-to-be received many beautiful gifts. The Lindon ward have began a summer project for the poor of their ward. They have rented and planted four acres of beets and are arranging to plant two acres of tomatoes. to-matoes. The bishopric is in charge of the project. The boy scouts and deacons will probably do the thinning, thin-ning, other priesthood quorums will I handle the irrigation and other things pertaining to the harvesting of the crops. |
