Show Page 8 APRIL 23, 1986 Officers to be installed during May PTA meeting On Thursday, May I , at 7 p.m. in the Davis High auditorium, a public meeting will be held to install the 1986-8- 7 PTA officers. Among those installed will be Jerry and Olivia King as presidents. BOTH ARE graduates of Davis High and have a fond spot in their hearts for the education they received there. Mr. King is a director at Beneficial Life. Insurance Co. and Mrs. King is a homemaker. They reside in Farmington with their three children. Both have been very active in their church and community. Thy; have served actively in the PTA for the past 1 years on local and district levels. They feel the quality of education that children receive is directly connected to the involvement of the parents with the school system. Areas of concern they want to help with next year are: for academic recognitionmore achievement, scholarship information, truancy, bad citizenship, parents and student awareness of alcohol and drug abuse, form a notification system to alert parents of emergencies that could occur at the school (fire, flooding, high winds, etc.) have a better understanding of the schools policies and procedures, improve on the registration process, safety on campus, more teacher apprecia- tion, involve the parent, student and administrators in combining their efforts in class scheduling. RIGHT NOW the schools is in need of 20 volunteers for fall registration on Aug. 20 and 21. We have a great school, good teachers and an administration who is eager to have us work with them in the behalf of the fine youth in our area.
