Show .FEDERATED I WOMEN'S CLUBS WILL' MEET First District Federation to Hold Convention in American Amer-ican Fork Saturday. The first district of the Federated Federat-ed Women's clubs of Utah will hold it's regular convention nt American Fork, Saturday- January 19, according accord-ing to Mrs. Margaret P. Maw, president presi-dent of the district. The convention will be held in the Alpine stake tabernacle tab-ernacle and will begin at 10 a. m. The program for the morning session ses-sion will be as follows : Pipe organ solo, Nina Halliday, American. Fork; invocation, Mrs. J. A. Hind-ley, Hind-ley, American Fork; selection, La-, La-, dies quartet of American Fork ; remarks re-marks of welcome ; response by president, Mrs. Maw and introduction introduc-tion of state president and officers; roll call and minutes of last meeting; meet-ing; report of local board of the state federation held in Provo last October, Mrs. C. E. Berry, treasurer treasur-er of board; five minute reports or remarks by the following, district chairman-, state chairman of committees com-mittees and departments and state directors : Mrs. A. Christensen, i American Fork, preventative dentistry den-tistry ; Mrs. W. T. Hasler- Provo community service; Mrs. L. C. Potter, Provo, friendly co-operation with ex-service men ; Mrs. Alex i Hedonist, Provo, college loan fund ; j Mrs. Sarah Harmon, Provo, public welfare ; Mrs. Willis Bromley, American Fork, motion pictures; Mrs. W. II. Homer, American Fork-conservation' Fork-conservation' of natural resources ; Mrs. E. H. Eastmond, Provo, home economics; Mrs. Dimmick Huntington, Hunting-ton, Springville, fine arts ; Mrs. J. E. Cotter, Lehi, state director; Mrs. A. W. Roylnnce, Springville, state director; vocal solo- Mrs. Clifford E. Young; remarks, State President Mrs. E. 0. Wattis, Ogden. At the luncheon, Mrs. Eliaa Christensen will act as toastmis-tress. toastmis-tress. Several violin selections will be played by Prof. Hopkins and several sev-eral little girls will dance. At the afternoon session the program pro-gram will be as follows: chorus from American Fork high school under the direction of K. J. Bird; address, "Opportunities and responsibilities respon-sibilities of Federation," Mrs. O. W. Dailey, Salt Lake City, state organizer; organi-zer; remarks, President Mrs. E. O. ' Wattis; vocal duet, Ray and Ruben; Nicholcs; address, "The Relationship Relation-ship of Literature to the Art of Life," Mrs. George P. Jensen, Logan, state chairman literary division; discussion lead by Mrs. Christen ; Jensen, Provo. J |
