T - y f"' Samuel E, Taylor, president of the Pnysoll Fnrm Bureau association, associa-tion, wns elected president of the Utah County Farm Bureau federation federa-tion nt the first annual meeting of the federation Monday at the county court house, at which were represented repre-sented 19 of the 25 local farm bureau bu-reau organizations of the county. Reed Warniek, president of the Manila local, was elected vice president pres-ident of the federation ; C. B. Ludlow, Lud-low, president of the Benjamin local, wns re-elected secretary, and Richard D. Wndley of Pleasant Grove was re-elected treasurer. H. W. Gore, Genola, retiring vice president pres-ident of the county federation,, was elected a member of the executive committee. A sixth member of the executive committee will be elected at the suggestion of the members of the women's organization of the farm bureau. The retiring officers of the county coun-ty organization are L. L. Bunnell of Lakeview, president; II. W. Gore, vice president, and W. H. Chipman of American Fork, member of the executive committee. The newly elected president of the organization congratulated Mr. Bunnell, the retiring president,, for the excellent representation he had given the organization during the past two years. "My whole interest lies in the farm bureau work," said Mr. Taylor. Tay-lor. "There are many problems ahead of us which we ourselves must solve, there is no one else who will come to our assistance. One of the most important of these problems is the taxation question. There is no tax commission or any other officials to blame for high taxes that we have had to pay during dur-ing the past few years. All of the trouble must be placed at the feet of the men who voted the tax in the first place. Through the various investigations in-vestigations that are now being made through the efforts of the farm bureau organization wo hope to remedy many of these problems." It was decided that the four votes of Utah county nt the meeting of the Utah Stnte Farm Bureau federation fed-eration to be held in Salt Lake City next week should be operated by the president, vice president, secretary secre-tary and treasurer of the county organization. Mr. Holley was carrying a sack of grain on his sholder toward the sheep pen to feed the sheep. The ice was covered with deep snow and Mr. Holly knew nothing about the slippery place until he had fallen. |
