Show CACHE COUNTY. NOMINATION OF LOGAN OFFICERS, Primaries were held in the different wards of Logan on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, for electing delegates dele-gates to a convention for nominating officers for the ensuing year. Tho delegates were, from first ward, A, D. Thatcher, M, H. Fames and James A. Leishman; from second ward, John B. Thatcher, Joseph E. Hyde, and R. S. Campbell; from third ward, James Quayle, W. E. Parting-ton Parting-ton and Benjamin Williams; from fjurth ward, Gustave Thoraason, I George T. Benson and Eii Bt-ll; from fifth ward, James Adams, N. C. Ed-;lefionand Ed-;lefionand Robort Henderson. The 'convention met Friday evening, all 'delegates being present. R. S. Campbell Camp-bell was elected chairman and Japies A. Leishman, secretary. A committee commit-tee on credentials reported all the delegates present. Xtie proceedings were couducted very quietly and no time was wasted in useless squabbles. (The result of the meeting was that I tho following gentlemen wero nomin-'ated; nomin-'ated; For Mayor, W. B. Preston. Alderman of brat ward, J. A. Leish- man; of second ward, C. O. Card; third ward, R. Davidson; fourth ward, Thomas X. Smith; fifth ward, Wm. :Hyde. Councilors, Moses Thatcher, ! Henry Ballard, James luayle, C. C. i Robbina and John Jacobj. I i The Sunday school of the first and fourth wards, gave an entertainment in Logan ball, Friday 8th, in it for the purposo of raiaiog means for the school. The programme embraced two charades, "Antidote" and "Dramatic," "Dra-matic," the farces of "Tho Fellow thut Looks Like Me," and "Who iSpeak First?" besides comic and BeutimouUl sougs, duets, choruses and recitations. Tho performance lasted nearly threo hours and ap-1 peared to give good satisfaction to tho audience, which filled every part of tho room. ... The Brigham City Dramatic associ-tioa associ-tioa gave a performance Friday evon- ine and will give another on Saturday i for the benefit of the woolen factory.: The object is a commendable one, j aod we hope they will be entirely sue-1 cessful. Next week some partisulars! of the acting can be given. 8N0W ELIDES. Several snow siides occurred up Blacksmith's Fork cafion this week. A very large slide thirty miles from the mouth ot the canon carried down two men. One of them was taken nearly to the river, the water washing wash-ing the snow away and liberating him. The other man was dug out, neither of them being much injured. Somo other narrow escapes are reported, re-ported, but no serious damage. WEATHER. Tho weather in Cache valley is slightly mixed. We have frost, Bnow, gleet, sunshine, mud, and the etceteras. Grumblers are satisfied, as they can vent their spite without bein called to account for it.
