Show A Couple ol NUooLluc Scrapes. Deadwood, D. T., 1C George Adler, formerly of Chicago, and Thomas Uarvey of Montana, partners in the Spring Valley ranch, thirty-five thirty-five miles from here, on tho Sidney road, became involved in a fight respecting re-specting the merits of their respective nogs. From words they came to blows. Garvey struck Adler with a hammer, whereupon the latter retreated re-treated to the cabin, end procuring his rifle, shot Garvey dead. Adler is now under arrest. This afternoon Frank McGoveru, a notorious character, and some years ago the terror of the Sweetwater mining min-ing country, engaged in a quarrel with Joseph Ludwig, a well known business man of Central city. Both drew revolvers and fired simultaneously, simultane-ously, Ludwig's fire taking effect, passing through both of McGovern's thighs. The wounds are regarded as dangerous. That Mr. Ludwig was justified in using his pistol is the uni versal opinion of the best citizsus here. |
