IS, when Mr. Thomas Maan and Miss Mary Dowd were united in marriage. The Rev. Father Healy peKbrmin,r the ceremony. The choir is practicing for Christmas and under the direction of Mrs. Maream is progressing rapidly. I Joe Hall well had a narrow escape while coming out of the mine by jumping off the skiff but came out with two black eyes and a skinned nose. A very sad accident occurred at the TTtc mine Nov. 28, when George Gair and Ed McGraw were killed by an explosion. ex-plosion. . The remains of George Lair were shipped ship-ped to Creede;: where his mother re7 sidec, for' burial. ' The boys had been here only a short time but were highly esteemed by those who knew them. Their sad deaths cast a gloom over the town and the sympathies of all go out to the grief stricken friends and relatives. rela-tives. Dan McGraw and wife came over from Salida to attend the funeral of the former's brother. Mr. White and Robert Lair came over from Creede to bring George Lair's remains home for burial. |
