Show CHILDREN OF MARY. I (Special Staff Correspondence.) I Butte. Mont., Dee. 15. I On Friday evening. Dee. 10. the Feast- ' of the 'Immaculate Conception, about! 200 girls and 250 boys were consecrated ns soda'lists in the Sodality of the! j Blessed Virgin, at St. Patrick's Church, j Rev. Father Callahan officiating. Itj I , was a most pleasing and inspiring! I ffisht.. The church was jammed to its! ; I Utmost, and the music as usual was up to a high standard. The Blessed Vir- I jrin's altar' was ablaze with lights and bright with tasity Jioral decorations. The procession left St. Patrick's school st 7::10 p. m. - and marched to: the ' church. On entering, they filed i pro- l cession around the entire building and I then occupied seats on the left, in j front of the Blessed Virgin's altar, j I In the lead marched thirty-six boys f carrying canaies, followed by about 200 I meinnbers ;.f the Boys' sodality. The j girls' division, in about the same num- ber, headed by a bevy of little ones dressed in white and wearing floral l crowns, came next. Both divisions I carried beautiful floral offerings, which i were placed in loving devotion at the feet of Heaven's Queen. The boys who carried the floral tributes were Imas s Kice. Charles O'Brien and Francis Sul livan. The young ladies . were Miss Mary Largey and Miss Agnes Lavelle. j i Wrs. Lulu Largey presented .the sodal- ites with the floral designs,; After the usual responses had been ! made ar.d the acts of consecration read, the Children' of Mary kn'lf 'and, recited ; in common the beautiful and prayerful hymn: t Spirit, "Creator of mankind. ''''' j feme, visit' every pious mind. ' i And sweetly let Thy grace invade Our heart. O Lord, which Thou hast J made . The clear ring of earnest piety and 1 true devotion of those young voices was 1 surely heard in Heaven. During the I cereinony the choir rendered "Come. I I Holy Ghost, Creator Blest," and the so.! j dalists in chorus sang "'Mother. Dear, j Oh, Pray for Me," and "On This Day, t O Beautiful Mother." i Father Callahan preached the sermon of the occasion, dwelling especially on i Mary's love for her earthly children and her all-powerful intercession with t her Divine Son.'
