Show ST. JOSEPH'S. The High Mass on last Sunday was celebrated by Rev. Father Geierman, C. SS. R. Rev. Father Brandt, C. SS. R.. delivered an eloquent discourse on the Immaculate Conception, whose feast was celebrated on last Friday. The music at ' St. Joseph's is at all times of a very high .order, and on Sunday the musical portion of the Mass was unusually grand. The choir rendered Von Weber's Mass in G. At the offertory Gounod's Ave Maria, was sung onchantinigly by Mrs. F. P. John- son, with violin obligate 'by Mr. Ber nard Foley. The choir has a galaxy of singers. Sopranos: Miss Mattie Ed-son, Ed-son, Miss Moilie Bertman, Mis-3 Mamie Ormsby, Miss Katherine Campion, Miss Amelia Bergman, Miss May Lof-tus Lof-tus and Miss Katherine Connelly. Altos: Al-tos: Miss Vannie Edson, Miss Fannie Bertman and Miss Georgina Edson. Tenors: Mr. John R. Schilling and Mr. Charles Sissler. Bassos: Mr. Wilr liam T. Ravennill. Mr. Fred P. Johnson John-son and J. Fred Roth (when in town). Mrs. Fred P. Johnson, organist; Mr. Ben Foley, violinist; Mr. F. Patterson, Patter-son, director. Trne Rev. Louis Brander. C. SS. R., has been quite ill with a cold for several sev-eral weeks. . Rev. Fr. Eisler, C. SS. R.. will leave for Kansas City. Mo., and New Orleans Or-leans in a few days, to remain until New Year's. Mrs. J. J. Ryan has been quite 111 for the past week. She is now convalescing. conval-escing. The choir is making great preparations prep-arations for Christmas music. The High Masses at 5 and 10:30 p. m. will be in part of Gounod's and Mer-cadante's. Mer-cadante's. Mists Walsli. of Florence, has been visiting friends here. Miss Edith Stern is visiting her sister sis-ter at Florence, Mrs. John H.-Jansen. |
