Show SOCIETY NEVS Mrs. Helen Dallin entertained members of the Fidelity Bridge club at her home Friday evening. A delicious luncheon was served at 8 o'clock to six club members and two guests. Later Bridge was played and prvze.s were won by Mrs. Clara Childs. a Ruest and Mrs. Floss Catea. Mrs. Doris Bird wa.s also a guest. The next meeting of the club is scheduled for March 23, in the form of a pot luck supper at the home of Mrs. Roac Roylance. Delightful in every detail was the spring luncheon tendered ladies of the Alpha Beta Club Friday afternoon at Valley Tav ern. Mrs. Emil Ostlund and Mrs. Ella Clyde were hostesses. The tables were beautifully decorated with centerpieces of yellow jonquils jon-quils in silver vases. Following luncheon the group enjoyed pro- home of Mrs. Laura Clegg. A delightful de-lightful program and the election of officers are ' planned for the afternoon. Mrs. Mary Weight spent a few days of the past week with relatives rela-tives and friends in Salt Lake City. Mrs. J. W. Olsen was the principal prin-cipal guest speaker at a Spanish Fork meeting of the Daughters of Pioneers in the Fourth ward hall, last iWednesday aftternoon. She gave an interesting talk on early pioneer history in connection with the display of a lovely collection of pioneer relics and heirlooms. Mrs. 'J. F. Wingate and Mrs. Grant Gardner were hostesses to the wives of teachers at the former's form-er's home Thursday afternoon. A delightful feature of the enter-: enter-: tainment was a one-act play given by Mrs. Eric Kiehl with- music accompaniment by Mrs. D. B. Welch. Rex Johnson also entertained enter-tained with a vocal solo, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Mary Louise Win-gate. Win-gate. Mendenhall, Sr., her daughter, Mrs. H. W. Weight entertained at a birthday dinner at her home Sunday. Covers were arranged for 20 guests including, Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Condie and twin daughters, of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Weight, playing Monopoly, after which a lovely supper was served. Following the regular meeting in the Second ward Sunday night, where Bert Strong, who recently returned from the Australian mission, mis-sion, spoke, a group of former missionaries to that country and their partners were entertained by Grant Alleman, at the home, of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Alleman. A tasty lunch and missionary reminiscences featured the entertainment with the following fol-lowing present: Bert Strong, Miss Harriet Miner, Mr. and Mrs. joe McCuan, Provo; John Walker, Miss Fugal of Pleasant Grove; Paul Taylor and Miss David of Provo Bench; Miss Ina Miner and Grant Alleman. Members of. the Fourth ward Genealogy class who recently presented pre-sented a play in the ward hall were entertained at the home of Ted Miller last Thursday night, following skating at Park Ro-She. The regular meeting of the Ladies' Literary club scheduled for Thursday, March 17, at the i home of Mrs. Hannah Clyde, has been postponed until March 26, when a husbands' party will replace re-place the regular meeting at the Clyde home. The last of a series of dances sponsored by the 'Fourth ward elders' quorum, was held Saturday Satur-day night in the ward amusement hall with a large crowd enjoying (he evening's entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ewing were surprised -by a" group of friends at their home last Wednesday night, the occasion being Mr. Ewing's birthday. The party was in honor of Mrs. Helen Boyer Worthen who was visiting here from Denver Den-ver and is on her way to join her husband in Washington, D. C. Those in attendance were: Mrs. Bernice Rigtrup, Miss Aleene McKenzie. Mc-Kenzie. Miss Josephine McKenzie, Miss Ida Packard, Miss Cora Harmer, Miss Fern Bate, Miss Clara Harmer, Miss Elaine Crandall Cran-dall and Mrs. Worthen. Mrs. Dorothy Smith was guest IMiss Louise and Lucille Averett entertained a group of girls at a party at their home Friday night. The evening was spent in I . her home Thursday afternoon. A history of the life of William Bramall, given by a daughter, Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall, and the lesson on "Hospitals in Utah," with community singing, were features of the program. Mrs. Myrtle Harrison, camp chaplain, offered the prayers. Mrs. Belle W. Childs was in charge of the meeting. In conclusion refreshments refresh-ments were served to about 40 members and guests.
