The feast of the Immaculate Concep- j tion was preceded by a nover.a, in which all the clients of Our Blessed Mother joined to honor this wonderful ; prerogative bestowed upon her by the Blessed Trinity by reciting- the "Little Crown of the Immaculate Conception." St. John writes in the Apocalypse: "And a great sign appeared in heaven. A woman clothed with tlv? sun, and the moon under feet, and on her head a crown of twelve sars." Some writers have taken this crown of stars to signify sig-nify the twelve virtues which they find conspicuous in Mary's life, and when these are understood, it becomes easier to comprehend the meaning- of the sublime vision which the Blessed Disciple Disci-ple so graphically describes. On the morning; of the feast high ' mass was celebrated 'by the Rev. Father Fa-ther Deneaf. the choir singing Loeseh's mass, an Ave Maria at the offertory i and O. Purest of Creatures" at the end ! of the mass. Benediction of the Blessed j Sacrament was give a as usual in the i af ternoon. To all the Catholic pupils this golden jubilee will doubtless be a memorable occasion, but to Miss Margaret Mar-garet Evan?, who received her first holy communion on this day, it will ever be supremely dear, the day to which in all the years to come, she will 1 ek back as the very happiest of her life.
