Show SCIENTIFIC DAIRYING. This item ought to be of interest to our agricultural agri-cultural college in Utah. It comes from the Savannah Morning News, which says that in Georgia trained experts in modern scientific methods and with twentieth century ideas, are fast replacing unskilled dairy workers. The unskilled un-skilled workers are being driven out, and they are Americans. The scientific methods are being be-ing contributed by foreigners. No country has a monopoly. One man who was just employed by a large dairy is fresh from county Kilkenny, Ireland. Others are from Switzerland and Holland. Hol-land. They get the same pay as the men they replace, from $30 to $60 a month with room and board, and contribute highly skilled labor instead of "help." That is an item that concerns Utah as well as Georgia How many graduates of the agricultural agri-cultural college of Logan know how to take charge of a dairy? That is a fast increasing business. If men do not eat more butter and cheese and cream than they formerly did, there are more of them who want the butter and cheese and cream, and they want it in the very best form. |
