Show Considerable Interest Shown By Sportsmen In Game Survey Report Considerable interest was shown by sportsmen in the reports of Warden Vernon Leavitt, Irwin Johnson and Bob Williams, Dixie forest officials on their recent deer count. These men told those present that their count showed a decrease of approximately 4,000 deer on the range this year over the estimated count taken last year. It was explained by these officials of-ficials that there will still be some "hot spots". Listed in this category was the Pinto division and the range from Leeds creek west to Veyo. Await Developments After discussion it was decided to wait further developments before be-fore a definite policy would be determined as to what to do about reducing the deer herd in the overgrazed sections. Others who spoke included State Commissioner Newell R. Frei and Marion Madsen, head of the state fisheries. Commissioner Frei explained some of the problems prob-lems facing the state regarding fish and game and told of some of the general policies adopted. Also what the effect of the new legislation would be. Mr. Madsen, told of the work being done in his department. Also stated that this county would receive its share of the fish to be planted and told those present pres-ent that the Enterprise reservoir was rated one of the best fishing waters in the state. He explained that new stock was being developed devel-oped for hatcheries since the old breeding stock had dropped back away below their peak production. produc-tion. He explained that this would enable further production, especially especi-ally in the future. The present board of directors, president and secretary were reelected re-elected by acclamation.
