Show Canyon Road Day Set For June 7th Thursday, June 7th, has been designated des-ignated as "Canyon Road Day" by the officers of the Manti National forest and interest is being aroused ! for the annual work on the highway j leading to one of Utah's most beautiful beau-tiful canyon resorts. Mayfield residents resi-dents and others are backing the proposition and an invitation has been extended to Gunnison to participate par-ticipate in the campaign to clear the roads. The beauties of Twelve Mile canyon can-yon are fast becoming famed and artists and others who admire nature na-ture in its wondrous beauty visit the canyon and for this reason the residents resi-dents of the valley should work to the end that more tourists be invited. Not only will the hundreds of tourists tour-ists visit the place but residents throughout the valley, the northern end of the county and even Salt Lakers Lak-ers visit Twelve Mile annually, and by keeping the highway passable and by advertising our scenic wonders at our door we can greatly increase the travel. The federal service, according accord-ing to advices from Manti National Forest service headquarters, will appropriate ap-propriate $300 this season to aid in repairing the road and if cooperation from all sources through the valley and the several towns is given, the road can be put in splendid shape. Cattlemen of the valley, who will take the stock to the range June 6th, are invited to have a team of horses and necessary camp supplies and remain re-main over night. Business men, club members and all interested in exploiting the beauties of the wonderful won-derful Twelve Mile canyon are especially es-pecially invited to take shovels, pick, axes, a coffee pot and plenty of grub and enjoy a real outing. The canyon road heretofore has been kept in fine condition and if the spirit is continued the people from the valley will benefit very materially. ma-terially.
