The game was played in the university gymnasium and was closely contested after the first five minutes of plav. The preps plaj-ed the better ball, and had it not been for- Captain Lee Prouse the Leopards surely would have lost. With the preps ahead by several points and with but two minutes to go, Prouse missed a free throw, but caught the ball and threw a difficult basket. This was closely close-ly followed by another basket by the East Side captain. Tomorrow afternoon the East Siders clash with the Granite five in the East Side gymnasium, and the Leopards must show some great work to beat the Farmers, Farm-ers, who are going strong. If yesterday's game was a criterion of the East Side quintette's ability, Granite should win. For the preps, Huffaker and Ruggeri played the star game, although the entire team shot baskets. The East Side started off with a rush and it appeared that the Leopards would win easily, but the preps soon caught up and for a time were in the lead. Holt shot four sensational baskets bas-kets at the start that showed much skill.
