Show HOLY HARRY'S PRAYER. Harry Joseph, our most persistent and ; I patriotic purifier of polities, is again ac-i ac-i tive. This timo he is not only active, but altruistic, lie desires to purify the polities of the enemy. It grieves him sorely to see the Democrats, after ob- taining a brilliant triumph, weaken ' themselves by petty graft. Holy Harry : ! hurries to the rescue of the Democratic : party. To be sure, he would use stern i methods. He prays that a grand jury be called together for the purpose of discovering irirefher any Democrat has i ; given his party an assessment. This is a wholly unheard of practice in Utah i politics and horrifies Holy Harry. Evidently Holy Harry is seeking a halo. No one can suspect that one so pure in politics as he could have any ; unworthy motive. His sole desira is to ; ' realizo that blissful condition in poli- i tics which the late Senator Ingalls ' ; called an "iridescent dream." Perhaps ' when Harry Joseph has donned his halo aud set it on so straight that it will not appear laughable, his friends will ; , be able to address him as "Saint i Joe." Meantime, however, he should make out a good case for himself, because be-cause we fear that Barney Quinn or 6ome other irreverent Democrat will ' prove a brilliant success as devil's ad- ' vocate. As a matter "of fact, we sus-;: sus-;: j pect that some Republicans would be ' . ' just as successful in that role if they ' 1 j sought to unfold Holy Harry's record as a campaign collector. |
