Show Stake Officials Reorganize Two LDS Wards Ceremonies Sunday brought reorganization re-organization of two Wards and a new counselor in a third ward of Grant Stake of the LDS Church. Stake officers selected Donald K. Barton, 1163 Ridgedale Circle for bishop of Grant Sixth Ward. Working with Bishop Barton will be Richard J. Marshall, and Lynn A. Wilson were named counselors' Lee B. McBride, clerk and Edwin E. Luck, financial clerk. Mr. Barton Bar-ton replaces W. S. Evans who was stake counselor June 24. Duane H. Linford, 1365 Brook-shire Brook-shire Dr. was named bishop of Grant Seventh Ward. He replaces Eugene C. Ludwig, new stake president. Working with Bishop Linford will be Richard Heaton and Floyd N. Shipp, counselors; Collier L. Allen, clerk and Alden L. Grimm, financial clerk. Named second counselor of Grant Eighth Ward was Melvin O. Cox, 3340 So. Ninth East. He replaces re-places Alton J. Anderson, newly named Stake high council member. mem-ber. Division of Valley View Third Ward of Wilford Stake became effective July 1. George Z. Aposhian Jr., 1945 Gundersen Lane, was named bishop of the new ward. To aid Mr. Aposhian stake leaders chose Harold L, Dean and Keith Facer, counselors; Howard Olsen, Ward clerk, and T. Emerson Baggaley, financial clerk. Boundaries of the new ward hit Longview Drive on the north; Holladay Boulevard on the south; Highland Drive canal on the west, and Twenty-second East on the east. Joseph A. Gundersen will remain re-main bishop of Valley View Second Sec-ond Ward, and working with him will be Nolan Oswal and John A. Larsen, counselors; E. Dale Kirk-ham, Kirk-ham, ward clerk, and Norman J. Johnston, financial clerk. The two wards, along with Valley View Ward, share the same chapel building at Twentieth East and Thirty-ninth South Streets. |
