Show Chamber Chatter By D. James Cannon Executive Secretary GLAD TO SEE the street improvement im-provement going forward on Wilmington Avenue between 12th and 13th East. We also note some building going on with more to be started soon. It looks like Wilmington will be one of the community's most important streets very soon. LOOK FORWARD to see Sugar House's entries in the Days of '47 parade on July 24th. Gordon Sorensen and associates have some interesting ideas for floats. HAVE YOU SEEN all the publicity public-ity our own "Pete" Harman has been receiving lately on the handcart hand-cart mural in his Sugar House cafe? Because 1956 is the centennial cen-tennial of the arrival of pioneer handcart companies, and because of the excellent color portrayal executed by Lynn Fausett at Harman Har-man Cafe, our community has come into the spotlight. NEXT WEEK (Wednesday to be exact) Sugar House will celebrate its annual "Old Timers Luncheon" at Beau Brummel Restaurant. Invited In-vited guests will be business and professional people who have been around these parts for 25 years or better. Our queen, Karen Page, and attendants, Jeralynn Topham and Mary Linn Ritter, will pin boutonnieres on the honored ones. This event is always a highlight in the chamber year. WE HOPE that none of the local business folk and employees will forget that the chamber's summer sum-mer party is slated for Thursday, Aug. 23, from 5 to 9, at Fairmont Park. |
