I'M ' -1 I : - I , r j , j -f ;T t si k i; iR i i ' 1 J ' ' -??r - r 11 High Schools "IT Chorale Set Concert July 16 Sixteen students from Olympus High School will sing- in a free public concert by the High School Chorus of Salt Lake Valley and the University of Utah Chorale at Kingsbury Hall July 16 at 8:15 p.m. Dr. Lara Hoggard famed choral director and music educator who is on the U of U visiting summer school staff, is guest conductor of the 190-voice combined chorus. The Olympus High students are Alvin Baer Bonnie Baker, Alfred Beckman Linda Daughters, John Dame, Lynn Davidson, Merrill Davidson Mardy Elggren, Kathy Howard, Michael O'Reilly, Dorothy Doro-thy Raddon, Craig Rigby, Sherril Smiley, Sheila Sullivan, Roberta Thurman and Kay Ulmer. Kenly Whitelock of Olympus High School Chorus Committee. High School members were hand-picked by their school music director. The groups have been in rehearsal since early last month. Assisting Dr. Hoggard as coordinator co-ordinator will be John Marlowe Nielson. Accompanists are Nor-ene Nor-ene Rogers Emerson with the high school chorus and Charlene Scow-croft Scow-croft Snow with the U. Chorale. The program includes works by Chapman, Schuetz, Franck, Loes-ser, Loes-ser, Morley, Abreu, Berlin, Robin, Rainger, Rachmanioff, Klein, Thompson, Brahms, Ringwald, Roberton, Sablon and Jolley. When Igor Oorin visited the sons ol Ltah Pioneers Museum during dur-ing the week lie especially was interested in the protrait of Brigliam Young, done especially for the museum by the artist Alvin Gittins. The noted singer will play the role of Brigham Young in the coming production of "All Faces West" in Ogden Stadium this week end. |
