Show High School Notes. The following is a reply made by the Moroni Coach t the Basket Fall : Fans of tie Mo mt Peasant High School who expressed their feelings of defeat in last week's issue: ' I deem it proper that Basket Ball Fans should have the facts presented to them that they miht know the Moroni Hitch School is not so small as to win a mere basket ball game ' by such unfair means s our Mount Pleasant high school friends implied1 by their notes in the last issue of the ; Pyramid. j The game was played Friday night Feb. 21st. The Mount Pleasant ; coach was the referee and the Mo- roni coach was the umpire. I Both teams playecfa clean game! but technical decisions were made by-both by-both officials. At the close of the game the official score showed thai Mount Pleasant hal made six field baskets, had 17 free pitches from the foul line, and had 1 point awarded. award-ed. Moroni had 5 field baskets, and 17 free pitches. Mt. Pleasant scored 5 out of the 17 trials, while inMoro made 12 out of the 17 trials. The final score being 18 to 22 in favor of Moroni. I From the facts of the case I cannot can-not see wherein our Mt. Pleasant friends can justify their statement as to our winning th game unfairly. We did decline the invitation to play to Mt. Pleasant again on their own floor, as we had played all the scheduled sames with ihem but we did not refuse playing them on our own floor. As to the body gurd, we considered consid-ered they meant that as a joke, or at least they should have done so. We did think that all the basket ball notes which appeared last Friday were mere notes of an enthusiastic first ye ir student, but when Richfield Rich-field came over on the 1st of March we concluded they must have meant some of it seriously for after the game, the coac, Mr. Christensen made this statement: "From what we were told about you people by i Mt. Pleasant's c iaeh and s'udents, ' we thought "ou an unfair bunch of, pla.ersand i hat you had a miserable1 place lo plav in, but I can now see that they, (the Mt 1 leasant H. S.,) j are a bunch who do not know how to take a defeat." |
