Show SPRING CITY By Special Correspondence A shower was given Wednesday Wednes-day evening of the past week at the home of Mrs. Pratt Osborne in honor of Mrs. Phyllis Lund, a bride of the month. Many useful use-ful and pretty gifts were presented pre-sented to the bride, who was, formerly Miss Phyllis Allred. Mrs. Laura Peterson, Mrs. Frank Larsen and Mrs. Reed Orton of Fairview visited Sunday with relatives rel-atives and friends at Spring City. Mrs. Rose R. Schofield was hostess at a Halloween party given at her home Wednesday ! evening by the members of the Lettitia club. The Ward Primary gave a Halloween Hal-loween party in the Victory Hall Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Larsen and small daughter of Salt Lake City are spending this week visiting visit-ing with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evert Larsen at Spring City. Mrs. Maud Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Larsen of California and Bert Larsen of American Fork were guests last week at the home of Mrs. Clara Allred. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Olsen of Ephraim were Sunday guests at the Daniel Jensen home at Spring City. Mrs. Boyd Blain of California came to Spring City last week to visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Osmer H. Beck and reports that Mr. Blain has entered the Service of our country. Nordell Allred is home on furlough, fur-lough, visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Allred He is in the Navy Air Corps at Oakland, Coiifornia. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Walsh of Boulder City were guests the past week at the home of Mrs. Welsh's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Olsen. Ol-sen. Relief Society conference was held in the Spring City ward chapel Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. John P. Johnson of Manti were Sunday visiting Mrs. Evelyn Christensen and other relatives in Spring City. A number of Spring City people peo-ple are employed at the Poultry Plant at Ephraim picking turkeys. tur-keys. ivirs. John E. Freitas of Fairfield, Fair-field, California has been visiting visit-ing here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Brough. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Black received re-ceived word Tuesday morning of the death of their grandson, LeGrande Allred, 37, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Allred of Preston, Nevada. Mr. Allred was fataly injured Sunday by a fall from a horse. Members of the family left immediately for Nevada. Mrs. DeRae Christensen and small daughter, Deon of Tooele were guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luttelas Zabriskie the past week, returning return-ing to her home on Monday. Allen A. Edmunds Promoted To Corporal In The U. S. Army Word has been- received in Spring City by Mrs. E. J. Edmunds Ed-munds that her son, Allen A. Edmunds Ed-munds has been promoted to Corporal in the Coast Artillery of the U. S. Army. Corporal Edmunds Ed-munds enlisted"on May 10, 1942 and is now stationed at Angel Island, California. |
