"The best practice during the finishing period is to hopper feed both grain and mash and keep these important feeds before the birds at all time in addition to plenty of fresh, clean water. When green feed is not available on the range, the mash should contain 15 percent well cured alfalfa al-falfa meal with green color or good green leafy alfalfa hay. should be kept constantly before birds," Poultryman Alder said.
