Show By The Governor of The Slate of Utah A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the American Red Cross has achieved an enviable reputation for its humanitarian activities, and has contributed much to the nation's welfare, and WHEREAS, the public constantly con-stantly calls upon the Red Cross when disasters occur, and thousands thous-ands of sufferers each year are cared for and comforted by volunteer vol-unteer workers of this charitable organization, and WHEREAS, our veterans and soldiers are entertained and cared car-ed for, counseled and guided by the Red Cross; and our civilian populace is trained to meet all kinds of emergencies through the various training courses sponsored sponsor-ed and taught by the Red Cross; and WHEREAS, there must be no curtailment of these essential ; services in the years ahead, there j being no indication of a need to decrease necessary functions, or a warning of when disaster may strike, and WHEREAS, to carry on its splendid work in Utah, and elsewhere, else-where, the American Red Cross will seek a minimum of $G7.000,- 000 in voluntary contributions throughout the nation; Now, therefore, I, J. Bracken Lee, Governor of the State of Utah, do hereby designate the period from March 1 to 31, 1950 as 1 050 AMERICAN RED CROSS j CAMPAIGN Month and do urge the people of Utah to maintain their not-I not-I able? record of support for this j organization in the coming ap-peal ap-peal for funds. j IN TESTIMONY WHERE- j OF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be I affixed the Great Seal of i the State of Utah.
