Show j PARK VALLEY DISTRICT 111 Joseph is Host Enthusiastic Over its Prospects A week among the mines and prospects pros-pects of Park Valley district Box Elder I county has made a most enthusiastic exponent of its possibilities out of from Harry Joseph who camo down that camp yesterday and who says tho people of Salt Lako have not yet learned to appreciate the opportunities that havc been held out to them up there Tho Century ownersaccording to Mr Joseph have expended no less than 510000 In tho equipment and development de-velopment of the proposition and at the new mill in which tho ores will llrst pass under the stamps and then into the cyanide tanks the initial run will ie made next week As is generally recognized the future of the camp must be largely Influenced by the result Df this run and the decision is accordingly accord-ingly awaited with a great deal of interest Exposed in the Century is enough ore with which to keep l the mill running for a year the average according ac-cording to mill tests reaching 510 per ton In gold The vein 1ms now been opened up to a depth of 170 feet where it reaches what Is known as the mill tunnel In another part of tho mine the I management has opened up a chute of ore two feet wide for a distance of 100 feet that affords an average of 1320 In the mill and that should afford avery a-very handsome profit The new mill was constructed by R E Lynch formerly for-merly of the Lucky Boy at Custer Ida and the Queen of Sheba In the Deep Creek country and will start up under his superlntendency At tho Golconda which adjoins the Century and which is owned by H S Joseph and others the management has obtained ores at the surface running run-ning from 4S0 to 112 in gold per ton and traced tho vein for 1COO feet In opening up the Golconda the owners put a shaft to a depth of llfty feet where two feet of oro was uncovered that afforded an average of 18 gold per ton Driven out by water at that depth a tunnel to catch the vein on Its dip was started and is now In SOO feel tho owners expecting to connect with the vein In the next fifty feet The Buffalo group is being worked by John Kearns Johnny Weber J C Lynch and C E Street and makes avery a-very creditable showing at the surface f The owners have decided to open up the vein at great depth however and to that end have started a tunnel l that t will penetrate the hill a distance of 1COO feet Upon this they have now driven 120 feet and will continue conlnue I steady work until connection with the vein has been accomplished The b proposition Is backed by 39010 very experienced r ex-perienced talent and tho result will be I awaited with keenest Interest by a large number of mining men in this State At the El Amigo which Is being developed de-veloped by Dr Woodruff Ed Irs and others of this city the management t I I Jms exposed al large amount of gold silver and lead ore while In Jacobs canyon Josiah Barnett Judge Blair and others have a most promising piece of ground adjoining the El Amigo and are running an Incline down upon the vein Mr Josenh is moat favorably im I pressed with the camp and believes it the making of a very productive one |
