Show NEW ARMORY FOR GUARD TRANSFER TO BE MADE TO MARKET MAR-KET STREET 1 Militiamen to Have Clifts Hall After Af-ter the Encampment Present Armory Ar-mory in Poor Condition Arrangements have been practically completed for a change in the location of the State armory of tho National Guard from Its present location to ClIfts hall on Market street The present building has never been wholly satisfactory and lately Its condition has become much worse The building leaks badly and owing to the Impossibility Impossi-bility of heating It the place has but little advantage over being in the field Negotiations for a new hall have been In progress for some time and the officers cers of the Guard who had the matter In charge finally decided that Cliffs hall would be a suitable location Adjt Gen Burton BrigGen John Q Cannon Can-non and other officers visited the hall yesterday and were thoroughly satisfied with It I Councilman Whlttemore the agent of the property has assured Gen Burton that the hal will be ready for occupancy about the middle of next month soon after the annual encampment encamp-ment is ended |
