Show M. LA. DAY OF KOLOB STAKE The first annual M. I. A. day of the Kolob stake was carried out Saturday Sat-urday afternoon at the high school campus under the direction of Elmo Coffman and Mrs. Oliver Dalton, and inl the evening at the Opera house under the direction of Ray L. Done and Mrs. H. T. Reynolds,: Jr. The afternoon program consisted of athletic contests between the "M" men, Scouts and Bee Hive girls, and a May pole dance and novelty dancing on the green, at which time Miss Vesta Anderson was May Queen. The athletic contest was won by the Springville Second ward. The individual winners were as follows : 100 yard dash, Russell Jensen, Mapleton ; 220 yard dash, Maurice Anderson, Second ward ; shot put, Celar Hutehings, Second ward ; half mile run, Hay Van Leuven, First ward ; high jump and broad jump, Clair Gudmundsen, Second ward ; relay, First ward ; Scouts, 50 yard dash, Wigbtman, Secon ardwd; 100 yard dash, Wendell Nielson, First ward ; stretcher bearing contest, First ward ; high jump, Wm. Wight-man', Wight-man', second ward; relay, won by Lewis Adelman, Vadal Childs, Far-rell Far-rell Gudmudnsen, Wr. Wigbtman, Second ward. Bee Hive girls, 50 yard dash, Caroline Ashton, Second ward. Advanced senior, 50 yard dash won by Clnir Johnson of Third ward. Horseshoe pitching contest won by Mapleton. The exercises were exceptionally well attended. |
