Show QUITTING SCHOOL ; Whenever a boy or girl quits school, .while they are still In the grades they .lose the chance of becoming worth-jwhlle worth-jwhlle citizens. I know two boys who iwere going to school together. They "had the same chance of making themselves them-selves useful, One of them now occu-ples occu-ples a prominent position in this ttounty. .The other boy has Just- been 'released from the state penitentiary, 'after a terra of one yar. All of this .'happened because one boy had the ain-ihitfon ain-ihitfon to make use of his opportunities ;whlle the other didn't. There are lioys In our school now ;who are going to occupy either one 'of the prenamed positions, and I hoj)e It won't be the latter. We cannot all become presidents of the United States or a general In the' army, but we con become sculptors, artists, engineers, or musicians, by finishing school. We can become almost anything we want to by working toward that goal, never nev-er giving i'.p because a lesson Is hard. Work never did hurt anybody : and through work great tilings are accomplished. |
