Show Three Men Enter Pleas of Guilty on Property Destruction Charges Three men were arrested recently and charged with destruction destruc-tion of private property in Summit County. Summit County Sheriff Ron Robinson reported his office had received calls reporting three strangers were moving about the area of the East Fork of the Bear River with no apparent means of transportation. The Sheriff's Department immediately began to check into the matter and the following facts came to light as the result of investigation. Officers stated: "Craig M. Wolf, 22, Lombard, 111.; Richard Allen Smith, 21, Coalville and David Stephen Rountree, 21, St. Louis, Mo., were apprehended as they came out of the Bear River area." Sheriff's Department officers reported the men had spent a night at the Boy Scout Camp located at the East Fork of the Bear River. Apparently they engaged in extensive acts of vandalism including shooting out windows and driving axes through the walls of the camp building. Investigators further reported the men broke into five summer homes in the Manor Lands Subdivision. Officers stated radios, guns, clothing and other articles were stolen from the homes. The three men were charged with destruction of Public Property and entered pleas of guilty before Judge Reed Warner. They were each sentenced to six months in jail and fined $299 a piece. Sheriff Robinson stated felony warrants for grand larceny are also pending against each c the three men. |
