Show was delightful. Not only turkey with all the trimmings but being included in a family affair . . . teenagers to grandparents, with Momma and Poppa, of course, and an aunt and uncle. For me,- without ANY relatives, rel-atives, what could have been nicer? Thanks, folks. And another thank-you from me this Thanksgiving time to some other wonderful friends who surprised me with an all-day all-day ride over toward Vernal. I had never seen that area in winter-time and with all the bleakness and dreariness, this desolate country has a charm and attraction all its own. Heavy snow on the peaks of the High Uintas in the distance with closer country just dusted with white made a truly artistic artis-tic scene the outcropping of rocks with the bare trees-added trees-added to its loveliness. The wind swept across the highway high-way but the bright sun stream- . ed in the car, and not until we stepped out for a minute at Starvation Dam did we realize it really was wintry. It was a fun ride. Thanks. Bits and Pieces BITS & PIECES By Eleanor Bennett I guess it's about time to devote de-vote at least a part of my column to my job. It's still the most fun job an individual could possibly pos-sibly have. Since Bud McConaughy has come into the organization as General Manager it seems we've been covering more controversial con-troversial subjects . . some like it and some don't, I suppose, but it does seem good for the community. It makes for more interesting reading, that's sure, and it seems to sell papers. It's always good to present both sides of a question but when there is an 'argument' and it is finally resolved, I'm a believer be-liever in seeing that all information in-formation about the subject is in writing and then plugging the winner and not stressingthose who lost. I can't believe that losers would like to be reminded re-minded in print that they lost. When I cover a story I try desperately to get the facts straight, to make sure names are exact, locations specific, and then I WRITE IT AS IT SEE IT! Thanksgiving for me this year |
