Show Health Officer Delivers Lecture At Leeds Dr. William R. McKay, representative repre-sentative of the Utah State Board of Health, addressed 18 mothers and fathers in the relief society meeting of Leeds ward Tuesday afternoon. This lecture was sponsored spon-sored by Miss Uarda Knight, county nurse, and was attended also by Mrs. Zora S. Jarvis, of the stake relief society board. Doctor McKay made use of charts and statistics in reviewing review-ing briefly the problems of various vari-ous communicable diseases in the state, especially among children and urged cooperation of parents with the physicians in the control con-trol of whooping cough, pneumonia, pneu-monia, scarlet fever, measles and other such dangerous diseases. He spoke also of the efforts being made to control tularemia, contracted con-tracted chiefly from Infected rabbits rab-bits and other rodents, the spotted or tick fever, and expressed the desire of the state department of health to assist in battling these diseases. Many questions asked regarding these ailments, as well as spinal menengitis. infantile paralysis and whooping cough were ably answered in language within the scope of those attending. attend-ing. ' |
