Show Dixie Beats Valley To Lift Their Pennant Chances Higher Coach Lee Hafen's boys tucked away another game when they took a fighting Valley high team into camp by a score of 49-39 on the Valley high's court last night. (Wednesday). It was a nip and tuck game in the first quarter quar-ter which Orderville led by a score of 11-10, but in the last half the Flyers found the hoop and went on a scoring spree. Coach Hafen had to juggle his boys a bit to get fhe best results. In the first quarter Jorgenson made 10 of his teams 11 points and was plenty hot. In the second half Fawcett guarded him and held him down while making some good shots himself. Wilkins also played a good game, with Esplin scoring 20 points for high man. Cox got the ball off the backboard, and Hafen and all the boys passed the ball cleverly to bring Dixie her victory. ' The box score shows Orderville leading at the end of the first quarter 11-10, and holding the Dixie team to a 19-19 score, but in the second half the Dixie team began to get used to the floor and found the basket, to go away from Orderville. Coach Hafen used substitutes freely in the second half, but his boys were on and took the game 39-49. Cedar Game Saturday On Saturday night the Flyers will play the Cedar high team on the latter's floor. While Cedar has failed to do anything this year, the Flyers are not letting down, and should take this game without too much trouble. |
