Show County Commissioners. Grant Franchises, Consider Building, Build-ing, and will Meet Today. The county commlssIoneishae been swamped witli business recently. They held a three dajs session the llrst of tills week and have a special meeting today at 10 o'clock. Tliero will be another special meeting on Thuisday, the 13th. At their last meeting the County Commissioner giantcd the Roll and Independent Telephone Companies blanket franchises over the Voad of Cache County on certain conditions, the county wants 15 free phones for the use of oillclals and free toll seivlce for oillclals talkingon otllclal business. Tho Commissioners also state that the whesmust be 25 feet above ground at any crossing. The county fathers considered tho advislblllty of erecting an addition to the court house. The necessity isn't doubted, but the wherewithal Is not to be seen. Nothhig definite was decided decid-ed on. Tho Tcllurlde Power Co. contemplates contem-plates extending lighting service to Providence and asked for a franchise. Tills was laid over Investigation, as was the company's proposition to light the court house for $5.25 a month. The Cache Valloy Ranking Co. wants to take caic of the county sinking sink-ing fund and offered so mo good terms. Moro time was required. Commissioner Joseph Knowles says that the worst pieces of road in this county aic Immediately at. the gates of Logan. The roads north, south, and west, Just outside the city limits, aio In very bad condition during In clement weather. Ho proposes that they be attended to at an. early date, Also a road In Petersboro. Ho says that considerable work has been done In Logan canyon recently. A bridge lias been built over tho canal and the dugway lias been widened and graded, a four-foot wall lias been built around the canal from the headgatc to the bridge. Ho was before tho citycouncll Wednesday evening urging that the city dads place the canjon road In as good condition as thev found it when work was begun on tho municipal munici-pal plant. Mr. Knowles has also arranged ar-ranged to have a cement culvert nut In the slough near tho Providence lane.
