Show 81st Birthday Is Observed By George A. Veight Friends and relatives extended filicitations to George A. Weight on Thursday of last week, when he celebrated his eighty first birthday bir-thday at his home on Canyon Ave. Life-time residents of Springville, Spring-ville, Mr. and Mrs. Weight are among the longest married couples in the city. Mr. Weight is a son of early settlers, Frederick and Elizabeth Bocock Weight. In his early life, he engaged in transportation of cordwood to mines in Park City and also worked work-ed on railroad construction. In later life, he followed farming and stock raising. For many years, he operated a ranch in Hoble Creek Canyon. He maried Nora Childs, December Dec-ember 14, 1892, in the Manti temple. tem-ple. He has been active in LDS church work and has done considerable consid-erable genealogy and temple work. He has eight sons and daughters, G. Fred Weight, of Shelby, Ida., Ella,. Leo D., Lamar and Woodrow Weight and Mrs. Iva Waters of Springville; Mrs. Bessie Stevens of Layton; Mrs. Berniece Lutz of Salt Lake City. There are also 30 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. |
