Show SALT LAKE HOTEL MEN WILL ADVERTISE CITY Bonifaces Plan Organization That Will Make Moni-clpallty Moni-clpallty Better Known In the East. Proprietors and managers of eighteen ' Salt Lake hotels met at the Knutaford Tuesday afternoon and discussed the organisation of the Salt Lake City Hotel Ho-tel association. ' A meetingWill be held at tlte Knutaford Knuta-ford Thursday for the purpose of adopting adopt-ing a constitution and by-laws, and electing directors and officers for the year. The association is formed for the pur-pose pur-pose of advertising Salt Lake City and surrounding country, and also for protective pro-tective purposes. The movement has been on foot Jor several weeks, it being the purpose of the originators of the scheme to do away with the petty strife that has heretofore existed. Measures for the welfare of the hotel men of the city will be discussed at Thursday's meeting, and it is probable that one of the first moves made will be the letting out of all runners employed by-the different hotels. It is said that these men, in some instances, do more harm than good, and that if all of the hotels will refuse to employ runners all will be assured of fair treatment. The hotel men of the city will probably proba-bly ask the Legislature for new laws dealing with hotel beats, and providing severe punishment for their Infraction. The association will advertise Salt Lake at all conventions and- gatherings gather-ings and will also endeavdr to have the railroads give longer stopovers in the city than are given at present. Excursions Excur-sions Into the city will be planned for the coming summer, 'and It is probable that the hotel men will employ a repre- , sentatlve to advertise Salt Lake CUy In the East. |
