Show DOUGLASAS ARBITRATOR j SSSBBSBBBBSSSBSSS Strike of the Cotton Mill Operatives at Fall River Is fettled. ' - BOSTON, Jan. 18. The strike of the cotton .mill operatives- at Fall River was settled at a conference here today. The conference was held at the State-house, State-house, representatives of the manufacturers manufac-turers and operatives having met by arrangements made by Gov. Douglas. The strike began July 25, 1904, when the manufacturers posted notices ff a 12 per cent reduction in wages. A conference held here last Wednesday Wednes-day was without result, but both parties par-ties met today authorized to make a settlement. By the settlement agreement the operatives ope-ratives will return to work at once under un-der the reduction. The question of the margin between raw material and manufactured man-ufactured goods, which shall be required re-quired by the manufacturers. Is left to be. adjusted by Gov. Douglas. |
