Some passion that leads us astray; Some gnawing and craving that keeps ua from saving A little each week from our pay. While one fellow places a bet on the races Though shabby his wife's bonnet bon-net looks. Some eager collector of stamps will neglect her. And I squsnder money for books. Such follies art human, there's never a woman Who's married who doesn't complain. com-plain. I Be he high man or low man, on earth there is no man Who doesn't st times seem Insane. In-sane. We all have a hobby which makes wife soby. The angler buys fish lines and hooks. The hunter's mad trifles art shotguns shot-guns and rifles And I squander money for books. Ask any good wife now the bane of her life now And right at tht top of tht list Without hesitation she'll put some temptation That man of hers cannot resist. 'Twill be golf clubs or apear heads, or stuffed birds and deer heads Or statuea for niches and nooks. Each man In his fashion baa some ruling passion And my wife will tell you It's books!
