Youth classes will run in two three-wee- k sessions starting June 21 and ending July 29,-total of six weeks. Classes will run Tuesday through Friday for three weeks each session. a This adds up to 12 lessons and allows for rain days and other inclement class is weather. Joh n Mahony "There is a possibility of a third session to follow from 2nd to August 19 providing we have enough August instructors and aides available," according to Mr. A. G. Fontas, the new Red Cross Field Director here. "Once again, all courses will be taught by Red Cross Water Safety Instructors, Basic Swimming Instructors, Water Safety Aides and Swimmers' Aides. They're all volunteers, too." Registration for the first session will take place at Bldg. 397 (Red Cross Bldg.) on June 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. The first swim session class runs from June 21 through July 8. second The class be will held also registration in the Red Cross Building, July 5, from 9 a.m. through noon. Classes will start July 12 and last until July 29. "Sorry, but we cannot accept telephone registrations for the youth classes," Mr. Fontas said. "Unless a parent, or responsible adult over 18 years of age registers on registration day, a student cannot be accepted into the swimming classes." Registration is for one session at a time. If all spaces in a session are not reserved on registration day, late registrations can be accepted at the Red Cross office between 8 a.m. and noon each day until all spaces are filled. Students must be at least six years old by September 30, 1977 and not older than 16. There will be a lew spaces for swimming lessons for handicapped children. These are limited spaces as instruction is on a basis.
