Show Page HILL TOP TIMES 22 June 10. 1977 cheduler's son drafted by Hams ( 111-:- f- ; M - a Bockwoldt, scheduler in the Industrial Products and Landing Gear Division of Maintenance Directorate, has a lot of reasons for boasting these days. His son, Rod, a 6 foot plus, 191 lb. Layton native, who played quarterback and slot back for four years on the fSmtif'Wi ' - Weber State College football team, was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams as a Defensive Back, in the eighth round of Jack ' ' V - the NFL draft. It's no wonder he was chosen so high in the draft he - set two national records and led the Big Sky Conference in passing and total defense last season. He also set a national record of straight comin one game, the most pletions ever by a player on the college or professional level. Rod was married, just two days after being drafted, to Debbie Welk of Clearfield, in a ceremony performed here at Hill Air Force Base. The couple presently lives in Ogden, but come July, they'll 21 be moving to Los Angeles and a new and exciting life. Rod's parents are very excited and enthused about their son's being chosen by the Rams. Jack says, "We are very proud of Rod and his accomplishments. We wish him the very best of luck and all happiness." That goes for the rest of us. Patriots take honors Hill t: - .. in show 4-- H Club Several Hill Patriot members were top winners in the recent Davis County Jr. Livestock Horse Show held at Barlow's Arena in Layton. Each club member has worked with his horse throughout the year as his individual project, and care,training,and showing are rewarded with ribbons and trophies.
